The Old Way The Amphion Way
Sanitation
Cleaning and sanitizing the reservoir requires the cooler to be transported or involves messy on-site chemical treatment. This costly inconvenience often causes the reservoir to be left in service for extended periods of time. The result is mold and bacteria growth that ultimately affects the water's taste. Our reservoir is a removable medical grade plastic liner that is the only water contact surface. This patented system allows for on-site cooler servicing, avoids the hassle of chemicals, and guarantees a truly sanitized reservoir.
Efficiency
Low-tech water coolers still use copper tubes wrapped around the reservoir or plastic probes that penetrate inside the reservoir. These provide only a minimal heat transfer area. Our reservoir liner rests on an aluminum "cold plate" similar to that in your refrigerator freezer with a contact surface of over 70 square inches. This gives our cooler much greater heat transfer efficiency.
Capacity
A limited capacity of 1 to 1.5 liters with only part of that actually cold. Our cooler has over 16 liters (nearly 5 gallons) of water that's all cold; often with ice floating on top. Customers can get as much cold water as they want without having to wait for the cooler to "catch up".
Leak Resistance
When floats fail or a piece of tubing or fitting starts leaking, the only warning available is when water starts dripping from the ceiling of the office below or the carpet gets squishy around the cooler. There are no floats in our cooler reservoir to complicate sanitation. If our unique non-contact level control fails to detect a "full" condition, or if the primary solenoid valve fails to shut off properly, we have an electronic "over-level" detector that sounds an alarm and shuts off the water flow by closing the back-up solenoid valve.
*An optional additional detector is available to monitor the top mounted filter package for tubing and fitting leaks.
Cleanup
High-pressure washing during re-hab can damage the foam insulation around the reservoir. This greatly reduces operational efficiency and overall operation life.
Our revolutionary polypropylene blow molded reservoir insulator with polyurethane foam inside provides excellent insulation without the fragility of the foams used by other manufacturers.
For cold section service customer must utilize a local refrigeration service arranged by the cooler manufacturer (if he has). This service is often unavailable during the busy summer season and shipping back to the manufacturer is too expensive. Our refrigeration section is fully contained in an injection-molded frame that is easily boxed for UPS style shipment to our warranty locations for prompt action. The structure of our cooler easily withstands normal shipping and handling. We offer the best warranty in the business.
